The winner of The Courier-Mail’s People’s Choice category in the 2008 Lord Mayor’s Photographic Awards is Rebecca Allen of Kuraby for her entry titled, Forever.

Voting for The Courier-Mail’s People’s Choice award has been undertaken via ballot since the Growing Up: 150 Years of Brisbane - 2008 Lord Mayor’s Photographic Awards exhibition opened on 5 December 2008.

Lord Mayor Campbell Newman says Forever was the clear cut winner.

“The entry shows how important the eternal flame at Anzac Square is to the people of Brisbane and the high regards in which we hold onto the Anzac spirit,” Cr Newman said.

The winning People’s Choice entry can be seen at Museum of Brisbane’s Growing Up: 150 Years of Brisbane exhibition which remains on show in Space 2 (Adelaide Street end of City Hall) until 2 March.

More than 20,000 people have visited the MoB exhibition since opening in December.
